AFCIMIX 11 / 12 is a range of special formulated Anti - Scabbing Sand Additive for green sand mould to reduce critical foundry defects such as Scabs , Ret tails , Buckles for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous castings. It is also developed to improve wet strength and gives excellent flowability.

RECOMMENDED APPLICATION PROCEDURE
  • Add AFCIMIX at early stages dry mixing with other sand additives.
  • Add the appropriate quantity of water and mix well.
  • For best results dry mulling is recommended before water additions.
  • Recommended addition percent % of AFCIMIX is 0.5 % to 1.0 % by weight for 100 % new sand depending upon the Mesh of sand used. Exceptional cases 1.0 % to 1.5% may be added in which case the addition of 0.5% extra water improves mouldability.
  • For reclaimed sand, recommended addition percent % of AFCIMIX is 0.5% by weight of reclaimed sand will yield good results.

The product addition improves the strength in the areas where localized heating takes place; in the mould at the time of pouring;i.e. in the vicinity of ingates, and horizontal mould surfaces exposed to radiant heat. The moisture is taken away at a very fast rate from these areas resulting in the weakness in sub layers causing easy fracture & defects. The wet strength improvement without affecting the permeability is the significant property of AFCIMIX additions

For excellent Casting surface finish use our Water based - AFCICOAT and Solvent based-AFCIMOL range of refractory coatings.
 
PRECAUTIONS
  • Soon after use close the bag tightly to avoid external contamination.
  • AFCIMIX is likely to deteriorate under damp condition, hence always keep in dry place.
