| AFCIFEED
11/21 is a range of Exothermic cum Insulating compound to minimize
the heat losses due to atmospheric pressure and also acts as an insulating
barrier thereby increases feeding efficiency of riser resulting in improved
directional solidification used for Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Castings. |
| |
AFCIFEED
31/41 is a special range of Mouldable Exothermic compound for Ferrous
& Non-Ferrous Castings, which are designed to provide effective feeding
of metal by prolonged solidification period of risers provided to the
castings.
AFCIFEED 51 being Highly Exothermic compound especially for Ferrous
castings initiate an exothermic reaction in risers by liberation of heat
that prolongs the solidification period of liquid metal thereby increases
feeding efficiency of riser.
AFCIFEED 61 is an Exothermic cum Insulating Hot-topping compound
in Square shape that initiate exothermic reaction and also acts as an
insulating barrier for a longer time thereby increases feeding efficiency
of riser. |

| RECOMMENDED APPLICATION FEATURES |
- AFCIFEED 11
is Insulating compound whereas AFCIFEED 21/ 61 are so designed
that they are exothermic as well as insulating in their net effect
& AFCIFEED 31/ 41/ 51 is a special range of highly Exothermic
compound. The initial exothermic reaction results in increment of
heat to some extent that prolongs the solidification period of liquid
metal thereby creating pressure at the top of the riser. In their
second stage it acts as an insulating barrier for a long time thus
increases the feeding performance of the riser. The efficient metal
feeding consequently results in higher yields leading to high metal
saving ,
Instruction for use of AFCIFEED 11/ 21/ 51
- Place a quantity
of AFCIFEED 11/ 21/ 51 on the top of the riser so as to provide
a cover of 25-30mm depth.
- Allow the exothermic-insulating
reaction to proceed.
- Top up with more
metal if necessary.
- In case of Heavy
castings if necessary top the riser again with AFCIFEED 11/ 21/
51.
Instruction for use of AFCIFEED 31/ 41/ 61 :
- AFCIFEED 31/ 41 is a range of MOULDABLE EXOTHERMIC compound
available in POWDER form that can be moulded to the shape as per requirement.
- AFCIFEED 61 is an Exothermic cum Insulating compound available in
Square shape in different sizes as per suitability.
According to riser peg design, AFCIFEED 31 / 41 / 61 of proper
dimension should be mounted on riser prior to moulding. For optimum riser
performance hot feeding and anti-piping compound such as AFCIFEED 11
and AFCIFEED 21 must be used. When the molten metal reaches to
riser height in the mould, the exothermic reaction starts on contact with
the sleeves. The exothermic reaction results in increment of heat to some
extent and also acts as an insulating barrier for a long time thus increases
the feeding performance of the riser. The efficient metal feeding consequently
results in higher yields leading to high metal saving. |

FUNCTIONS
& ADVANTAGES
Consistent Advantages:
- Productions of
sound castings free from defects.
- Useful particularly
where box parts or casting design makes risering difficult.
- Increase in feeding
efficiency and yield, through minimum heat loss and heat dissipation
- Reduction in riser
sizes improves the foundry yield through metal saving, higher product
output per mould due to higher saving in riser metal, savings in high
value metallic inputs, drastic reduction in fettling costs.
- Because of better
feeding the rejection due to shrinkage defects are reduced.
- Use AFCIHOLD an
excellent Slag holding compound that ensures clean metal surface free
from Slag by coagulating the impurities & also imparts an insulating
effect.

| PRECAUTIONS : |
- AFCIFEED
should be kept in tightly closed box/ bag in a cool and dry place
to prevent it from moisture contact and avoid external contamination.
- AFCIFEED 11/
21/ 31/ 41/ 61 are exothermic-insulating compound and AFCIFEED
51 is highly exothermic compound, hence should be kept away from
flame or from other ignition source.
- Coating and torching
of AFCIFEED 31/ 41/ 61 should be avoided inside the mould.
- Damage and displacement
of AFCIFEED 31/ 41/ 61 should be prevented while making moulds.
